August Break: Tourism

I’m on an August Break from my regular blogging schedule. Here’s today’s pictures.

Regensburg is fairly popular with tourists.  Besides having a first rate Dom and a great Stone Bridge that has been in use since the Crusades. We’re also on the Donau river, and the river tour boats like to stop here, so it’s not uncommon to see tour groups in the Altstadt on weekends.

There’s also this, the city tour.  I went on it once-  It was interesting, but not the sort of thing I’d bother doing over again.  It’s fun to see this winding its way through the city on weekends though- if you hang out for a while, you’ll see it two or three times in a day.

Have you ever been a tourist in your own city?

  1. Have you ever been a tourist in your own city? Yes. I love it all the way up until the part where another tourist asks you where you’re from and you say “From right here!” and they look at you all funny.

I just came from a week in the Seattle area, where we toured the city via Duck! What a blast! We drove right into the lake and “ducked” around for a half hour tour of the city sights from the water, then back on land for another hour. It was spectacular and really fun! I know they used to have a Duck tour in Ft. Lauderdale. I’ll have to look into it.

Re: your weekend, did you go inside the castle, or are you more of an outside guy? Being that crowded, a castle tour might have been a nightmare, though.

  3. There is no any doubt that Regensburg is the most beautiful city in Bavaria. I have been to Regensburg just once and it was really an awesome experience. Regensburg is mostly popular for various pleasant festivals but I was surprised within my trip that there are many enjoyable tourist attractions as well. Walhalla temple and Stone Bridge are really awesome places to visit. I have written some content about Regensburg city in one of the travel guidance related social networking site. Please have a look at the link below.

Within my trip I did not hear about city tour bus. I will definitely love to experience it. Even in my trip to Regensburg I have not attended any festival as it was just two days trip. I would love to attend Regensburg Dult and burger festival.
